Log Viewer

While still within TaleSpire, no matter in which menu, you can triple click in the top left corner to open up a log viewer which contains all info, warning and error messages that got logged while the game was open. This can contain helpful information right at your fingertips.

Log Files

Sending screenshots of this log viewer when submitting bugs is however not the most helpful - all contents of the viewer is also stored in a log file. The “Player.log” file contains the log data of the most recent time you ran the game, while the “Player-prev.log” contains the data for the second to last time running the game.

You can open the folder containing the log files by going to settings and clicking the “Open Logs directory” button at the bottom of the first page.

Alternatively you can manually navigate to the folder. The files can be found at different locations depending on your operating system.

Note: For Windows and Linux, the same folder that contains the log files also contains the settings, Mac stores it in a different place. Press “Open Settings directory” next to the “Open Logs directory” button to open the settings file location.

Windows:

The log files are located at %AppData%\..\LocalLow\BouncyRock Entertainment\TaleSpire\. To open this file path simply paste the text into the file explorer top bar. Alternatively you can manually navigate there by pressing Windows + R, entering “%AppData%” in the “run command” window, then going one folder up and following the folder tree “LocalLow”, “BouncyRock Entertainment”, “TaleSpire” manually.

Mac:

The log files are located at /Users/<your user name>/Library/Logs/BouncyRock Entertainment/TaleSpire/. To open this file path you can open Finder and press “Go” in the menu bar, then “Go to folder”. In there simply paste the text (and edit in your user name) then press enter. Alternatively you can manually navigate there by pressing following the path step by step, though you will have to enable hidden folders first as the “Library” folder is invisible by default.

Linux:

While Linux isn’t officially supported yet, it is running almost flawlessly on most machines using Steam’s Proton compatibility layer. The log file location depends on where you installed TaleSpire to: /path/to/steam/library/folder/steamapps/compatdata/720620/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/BouncyRock Entertainment/TaleSpire/.
