5e Lights

I would like to see more lights, or lights with variable distances lit.

most popular TTRPG D&D5e a torch is described as 20 ft bright light and 20 additional feet dim light.

I personally would monkey with those numbers BUT the standard is where we should begin.

I used the example of a torch and a brazier and sat them in a room with Darkness turned on in atmosphere.

It appears to me that a Torch gave off about 10 Foot Brightish light and maybe 5 foot Dim Where as the Braziers Dim light was maybe 45 feet i could see some light on the walls.

I understand this is going to be a very difficult task to get more lights built CLOSE to the standard, and i dont think all need to. I would however like to see more.

I suggest highly that you repeat the experiment I did and use walls and pillars to play with it.

I feel 2 or even 3 light sources may need to be present in a single prop to achieve the outcomes desired. Such as the current torch is not bad, but is only about 10 ft bright light. I dont know what control you have over the radius, but the intensity i think is good, but if we could at least get it to say 15 foot that would be good. Then i feel a second less intense lightsource built in would then need a radius of 40 feet, or close to 30 would be welcomed.

[This is all based on a 5ft tile assumption]

I know the dim light can reach far as brazier 45 feet from a wall still could have noticeable light reach the wall give or take 5ft.

Very little is specified outside this, but playing with the lighting in dark rooms, I feel we could use MUCH more dimlight range at the very least.
