Animations (WAIT, don't close :)
What Feature would you like to see included within TaleSpire?
There is a reluctance to add animations, but that’s obviously not a complete rejection.
There are already emotes (with new ones coming). Flames are animated (and have an active lighting effect.
The only thing is, they are simple. So I don’t think it would be unreasonable to ask for more of the same.
What situations would this Feature be useful?
On a grander scale, this could also be used to represent status effects. You could add the already existing animated flame in the braziers for example and stick on a base. That would show the character is currently burning.
More generally it could be applied to props as well, to have for example bobbing things in the water. It would just be an up an down movement (which is already being used to highlight tiles in build mode). or for flying/floating things. (as flying already does)
Additional Thoughts/Details
So I’m not asking for anything crazy. The game already enhances the immersion with certain very simple effects. I just think this could be greatly expanded upon while still not adding full blown rigging skeletons. Not even including simple animations like the flames, which would be obviously greatly appreciated.
Especially for modders, being able to provide a few alternative frames fora pseudo animation could allow to create animation sets for models. Like actually providing an alternative burning model when a status effect is triggered. You know, like a base model, then show a burning model when on fire, then back to normal, with no frames in between. That would “just” be a fancy way of visualizing status effects.
