Built-in Soundboard
What Feature would you like to see included within TaleSpire?
A built-in collection of sound effects that the GM could play at will would be nice. Stuff like a distant gunshot, an explosion, an arrow ‘fwip,’ a church bell ringing, a hand bell ringing, a hag’s shriek, farm animal sounds, etc. Specifically, rather than being a continuous ambient sound, they would be individual sound effects that play once rather than on a loop.
What situations would this Feature be useful?
There’s many times where I want to accurately describe a sound, but my mouth simply can’t make the sound itself and my description doesn’t get that same visceral feeling that the actual sound would elicit. It would be nice to have a collection of sounds that I could play to my players whenever I like.
Additional Thoughts/Details
Someone else mentioned an integration with a 3rd party ambience system, which would be nice and would probably get the functionality I need. However, I would prefer to have an option for a system that is entirely in-house, even if it’s fairly limited by comparison.
Could also be neat to tie a sound effect to one of the attacks of a character, but that’s probably enough of an endeavor to be its own feature request.
