Free form landscape (foam terrain)

What Feature would you like to see included within TaleSpire?

One or more Layers that works like UE4 landscape layer (link) - at least to create base geometry for the ground.

What situations would this Feature be useful?

  • This would allow GMs to create a natural looking landscape, and save on tons of assets. It would also improve the creation of maps with tunnels / caves.

  • Last but not least it can be implemented as a way to lower the immersion-break that the hide plane slider can create.

Additional Thoughts/Details

One layer would suffice to add tons of funtionality:
(1a) a single sculpt layer with a scaleable texture would already allow GMs to create a base for their maps.
(1b) a lot can be achieved even with a low resolution for the landscape-deform grid.
(1c) A toggle between sharp and smoth vertexes plus a raise/lower vertex tool would be a great start.
(2) if layer is cut by hide plane slider, a Ground texture can appear flatly underneath the landscape.
(4) a completely solid color layer could be used to fill out the spaces between cave walls.
