What Feature would you like to see included within TaleSpire?
I’m requesting a hexmap option. While some players would prefer a hexagonal grid for regular play, my motivation is as a narrative tool to illustrate longer journeys that can’t reasonably be constructed on a battlemap-scale grid.
The way I would like this to look is a 3d hexmap akin to those produced by popular map makers such as Worldographer or Inkarnate. Different tiles would be representative of the different terrain that the players would encounter in that hex. An option to transpose roads and waterways into the map would also be helpful.
Additionally, assets such as a representation of a town, or a castle, or some other point of interest in any given hex would deepen immersion in the narration of longer travel.
What situations would this Feature be useful?
Unless someone is running a game that is entirely self-contained to a relatively small geographic area, their players are going to need to traverse large geographic distances, and this feature can help bridge the narrative gap between smaller boards created for specific purposes. I often find myself in a situation where players have finished at a particular locale, but have not yet arrived at the next, and I find myself wanting for
Additional Thoughts/Details
Even a small handful of terrains would be valuable, desert, forest, swamp, mountain, and plains would be plenty to start!
