NOTHING from the library shows when placed on the board. only a shadow where it should be.

Describe the Bug
I thought when I placed items, tiles, etc. on the board that I would see them. I have tried zooming in and out, no change, only looking closer or further away at the shadows of what should be there. Also the curser disappears, making using the menus a bit of a guessing game. According to steam I have been “playing” for 9.5 hours. I HAVENT BUILT ANYTHING VISABLE YET. I have deleted the board and started again; no change, I have deleted the Campaign and started over; no change. I DO have a red box with a flashing “!” in the top Left of the screen when I open it… but I cant figure out how to fix that either or if that should be there. I got this to play with friends, and so far… I am beyond frustrated. I have spent HOURS watching tutorials thinking I must be doing something wrong. But I can’t find anything to try differently.

ffs! I knew I forgot something… ok. imagine… a board… now imagine only shadows but no graphics of the tiles that are casting the shadows.

Additional Context
Unburden yourself of thoughts and musings here… well, than you kindly. Is there a way to play this offline? I am wondering if my internet could be slow and that is what is glitching this? Is that a thing? also the tile movement is choppy and well, shite.

Oh, I checked by logging into a friends game, I can only see shadow there as well. So it is an across the board issue for me, pardon the pun. Not just related to GMing, but as a player as well.
