Slabs: Snap to grid
TLDR
If slabs could snap to grids larger than one tile, it would be much faster to place them.
What?
When placing a slab, it would be very useful to be able to snap the slab to a grid larger than the single-tile grid TaleSpire currently uses. This would be very useful for larger slabs, which are meant to fit next to each other, to make large areas quickly.
For example, here I’ve made four slabs that are each 6×6, that can be used to quickly make a desert board with a road. Right now, I need to slowly align the slabs with each other every time I place them, but the roads in the slabs only line up if the slabs are placed in increments of 6 tiles. (Ignore the 1-tile space between these slabs. That’s just to make them easier to see as separate slabs.)
Additional Thoughts/Details
The ability to snap to a larger grid would be best if it was an option saved with each slab, since some slabs might make sense to snap to 6 tiles east-west and 6 tiles north-south, and some slabs might be better to snap to 6 tiles east-west and 12 tiles north-south, for example. (Snapping vertically would also be useful, but I left it out for simplicity.)
A game with a feature like this is Factorio, for its blueprints. (Blueprints are the equivalent of slabs.) You can snap them to any number of tiles in each cardinal direction, and can also offset the snap-grid by a number of tiles, for blueprints (slabs) that are oddly shaped. For example, here is my 10×10 blueprint that has solar panel, battery, and power-pole tiles, that snaps to a grid so I can place them without slowly lining them up, and without placing each of the dozen tiles one by one.
