Table Surface (Floor Background) Custom Image Inserts
What Feature would you like to see included within TaleSpire?
I think that this will help with scaling some of our biggest builds. The system doesn’t like to allow “perfect” replication of rooms in certain traditional D&D Maps. Walls in those old maps might be too thin, or not quite thick enough for one or two walls to really do the trick. This leads to custom workarounds, but in some settings the sense of scale can be distorted.
What situations would this Feature be useful?
I can think of a few, but the primary one I imagine would be where a DM/World-builder would be building a board for a section of a campaign from official source material, but the sense of scale may not be totall accurate. I’ve encountered this, and a good friend of mine encountered this while building a rather “famous” board for “Sunless Citadel”.
Additional Thoughts/Details
I think the simplest description, is to allow us to upload a JPEG image into the board that is then applied like a shadow to the board base itself. This lets us “trace” (for lack of a better term) the original map as closely as possible. It would work really well with building layers of certain areas such as “Death House” etc., which contain multiple floors.
